  2. Preprint Policy

Novel Forensic Research (NOFOR) does not consider preprints as prior publication. Authors are permitted to share and discuss their research findings on non-commercial preprint servers before submitting their manuscripts to the journal.

Authors must disclose the existence of any preprint during the initial manuscript submission and provide the preprint server details, including the DOI or permanent URL of the deposited manuscript.

If the manuscript is accepted and published in Novel Forensic Research, authors are responsible for updating the preprint record with a citation and direct link to the final published version of the article.

Preprints must comply with applicable ethical and legal requirements. Manuscripts containing confidential forensic records, identifiable personal information, autopsy images, or materials related to ongoing criminal investigations must not be publicly deposited without the necessary permissions and safeguards.
